Viognier flourishes in the westside Willow Creek District, where the calcareous soils and cooling marine breezes provide the ideal environment for this Rhône varietal. The wine radiates with a pale to medium gold hue. Aromas of ripe peach and crisp Fuji apple are layered with delicate notes of chamomile. On the palate, vibrant flavors of mango are balanced by the tangy sweetness of key lime pie and beeswax. A soft, immediate weight on the palate, expanding gracefully into a focused, refined finish. Cold fermented and aged in stainless steel to preserve its vibrancy. Ultra limited availability, with less than 150 cases produced.
Vintage Notes: The 2023 growing season in Paso Robles was notably cooler, with historic rainfall contributing to exceptional yields. Though the season began and ended later than usual, higher-than-average temperatures in July and October helped ripen the fruit ahead of a late harvest. The wait was worthwhile, resulting in grapes with outstanding structure and rich flavor development. The 2023 vintage is truly a standout for Paso Robles.
